In its northwest corner, Washington State is blessed with one of the world’s great ferry systems. Taking the sailing between Seattle and Bainbridge Island on a beautiful sunny day, I became lost in thought staring out at Puget Sound and was reminded again how fortunate I am to live here.
Think I took that ferry once. If I recall, a couple sisters were visiting. We took the train up from Portland, walked over to the ferry landing, rode the ferry over to Bainbridge then rode it back, then took the train back to Portland. It was an interesting day.

I love riding the ferry. The ride is too short. I much prefer taking the longer one to Orcas Island from Anacortes, which takes an hour.
